A little about us here on Fidalgo Island!
Passport Golden Retrievers is a small hobby farm in Northern Washington State, north of Seattle in Anacortes, where I have been breeding on a very small scale for 20 years now. This really more of a hobby however, I am constantly researching sires and dams that will allow our line of Golden Retrievers to become beautiful, healthy retrievers, allowing their families the wonderful traits a Golden Retriever possesses plus the extra value of good health to enjoy life as family members. I have a good working relationship with my veterinarian, and have been known to call him any hour of the day to ensure our dogs remain healthy because they are treasured family members and may also have puppies at times. I also belong to several associations where breeders discuss the various attributes and ailments Golden Retrievers can have. And I participate in AKC Rally activities honing in on training and communication with my dogs. While it is impossible to eliminate all of the potential health issues it is important to try and improve the health lines. For this reason I stress the importance of having Orthopedic Foundation Association approved Health clearances on the dogs I use in our breeding program. All pet owners want their pets to live long healthy lives. Having these health clearances means I have done as much as I can to provide a healthy pup that will be a healthy dog with many years ahead.
Also an educator in the public schools I know how important it is to work with people to get a well bred puppy raised in a home atmosphere with the best amenities I can provide. I offer life long assistance and love having folks stay in touch with news about their dogs. I have sold puppies to people from Anchorage to Denver and even Denmark.
